SEAGO was designated as an Economic Development District (EDD) in 1991. As such the SEAGO EDD strives to provide long-range, regional planning among all SEAGO’s member entities and those within the EDD region.
SEAGO (SouthEastern Arizona Governments Organization) takes in the four rural counties in the region — Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Santa Cruz — 14 cities and towns — Benson, Bisbee, Clifton, Douglas, Duncan, Huachuca City, Nogales, Patagonia, Pima, Safford, Sierra Vista, Thatcher, Tombstone and Willcox. SEAGO also takes in the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
We are driven by the goals and objectives set by member entities, the SEAGO EDD Program assists all distressed areas, planning regions, cities and counties. We assist in providing significant economic development planning, policy making and implementation efforts.
The main focus for the foreseeable future is to create an environment that leads to the retention of not only highly skilled, high wage jobs but also support positions crucial to the ongoing operations of grocery, department, restaurant, and other retail stores.
